Wrapper shifts slightly left and right on various pages
My gut says _Aerospace_Eng_ helps me out with this (like usual) - but I am having some sort of trouble with my entire content shifting slightly left and right - the entire wrapper actually. It seems that when the content stretches down fairly far towards the bottom, it does not shift, but when it does not, if shifts slightly to the right.
Example watch how these two pages behave, if you go back and forth you will see the second one bumps over to the right. I tried putting a "spacer" div in the content area to make sure it was filling past a certain point, but that did not seem to do the trick:
You're right - I didn't notice that until you said so but in FF the scrollbar disappears and it does not in IE. Is the only fix for this to make sure the page is long enough for a scroll bar?
Maybe it's just me, but I see this as an annoyance in FF (about the only one I can think of). I much prefer the way IE handles this by just graying out the vertical scroll bar so it doesn't jar the page over 20px back and forth. I think I'll just use the spacer DIV to make sure the scroll bar appears.....
I had that problem too, but then i noticed the scroll bar!
I really like your site.
What did you do to "fix" it? Just make sure your content div stretches far enough to force scroll?
Hey thanks, I really appreciate that. I'm still not done, I am shooting for clean but thinking it might be a bit to much white - might have to put a very slight gray background for the body and leave the interior content parts white... I dunno though.

niemie thats probably the best option if you want to fix it. A thread was posted recently about the page shift. There is a link in there that explains what you could do both from a developer point of view and a user point of view. http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=64033
