Inserting AVI/MPEG into Flash

I can't figure out how to get a avi/mpeg movie to work in Flash. I import the file set quality and bandwidth etc and then place it as a new layer.

Even if that's all I do. It won't play, let alone if I try and add pre-loading frames and a play button.

When I open up the exported swf file I only see the first frame of the video. i can go back and forth by right clicking and using forward/backward, but that's it.

Import it to your library, then drag it into the place you want it. If its rather large it will create a frame for each frame of the video.

Try importing directly into the layer.
