Multimedia Graphics Card

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a new PC and am having trouble deciding on a graphics card.

While I wish to be able to play games (Rome: Total War, Doom 3, ...) I want a card that will work well in the graphic design / video editing world. I particularly wish to run dual screens.

What would you recommend? GeForce or Radeon? Why?

Thankyou for your time!

What are your current PC specs?

Will help in deciding how powerful a card you could run.

Would also be good if you could let us know what connection type you have to plug the graphics card in to.

i.e

PCI
AGP
PCI-e

That's a pretty solid system, so. . .

IMO, graphics cards are one of the areas you really get what you pay for. You could argue back and forth for hours on which brand was better, but you buy a high end AGP card, and you had a crappy one before, you are gonna be happy. Regardless. Here is a good site outlining chipset specs. It all really comes down to what you can afford. The ones that cost a lot, cost a lot for a reason.
