Question About Visual Basic Access Programming

Hello. Please help. I need some help on Visual Basic Access Programming(VBA). I am currently writing a program that like a search engine in Micorsoft Access and has to use VBA to write the program and use SQL to query information from the database. Now i encounter a problem on how to accept user input when they enter wildcard characters such as *, /, -, and etc. My program i wrote it can accept normal string input with no wildcard characters input and a space in between the input. Once the user input a wildcard character. The program starts showing incorrect data. Can u please help me. and also how to implement Microsoft Access into Microsoft SQL Server. Thank You
