Question few questions on svcd's (subs/multiple audio/burning)

K, I've figured out how to make a svcd with subtitles and multiple audio channels (2), using I-author. Now the problem is I've come out with an mps file and for some reason I can't play it, even though I downloaded a player. But I really don't care about playing it on my pc, I want it for my DVD player. Once I have the mps file how do I burn it? And finally I heard somewhere that if using subs and multi-audio your video bitrate cannot be higher than 2500 kbps or something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
