Does anyone know if its possible to make a button that has the usuall up and over states but also when the user clicks on the button it stays highlighted? (same as over state)
Why don't you just make the down and hit state the same as look?
You can also use actionscript I would imagine to keep replace the active location with a static 'hit' button. You could also just do this even simpler if each scene is separate - place the static 'hit' state button on top of the link for that page to look like it's active.

What does this have to do with Flash? Much less, about web design?
