Trying to replace FP builtins

I am trying to replace all of the FP builtin functions using the FP server extensions and wizards with flexible/customizable Javascript and find myself running into many different walls.

FP 2003 has builtin Discussion Forum wizards which use WEBBOT handlers and FP extensions. I want to create a Forum/Discussion area but I want to add customized form items to be added to each forum article as it is created when a member submits.

Is there some way to add my custom programming to the FP stuff, or is there a drop in replacement in javascript?
