scrolling text won't center - other issues too!

Hi there,
I'm terribly new at javascript. I have some code I've gotten from the web to create scrolling text on my site. The text scrolls, but there are a few problems with it. I'm hoping someone can take a look at the code and let me know what I can do to fix it. Here are the problems I'm having:
-You don't see the scrolling text until you mouse over one of the top navigation buttons (which use javascript drop-down menus)
-for the life of me, I can't seem to get the dam text in the center of the field it's in.
-when you click out of that page, and go "back" to it, there is an error message that says scroller has already been created.
I would love some help on this - thanks!
Here's the page:

ps. If anyone out there has some SIMPLE code for crating scrolling text that pauses at each entry, please let me know!

that's encouraging!
In that case, i'm assuming you saw the scrolling text, and it appeared in the center of the site, yes?
Just so I know, are you on a Mac or PC?

Your drop down menu's are not working for me in IE, but are fine in FF.
