Geoffers v.2

First things first: don't complain about the tables, this is a modified template, which I plan on recoding from scratch, and will get rid of them, this is a review of the layout, not the code.

Very good .
Love the colours, and the layouts nice as well, because it's fairly simple. Only thing I don't like is the favicon - it would look better with the bright blue part being transparent.
Nice one .

Edit: You spelt interested wrong (you put intrested) on the sign up for the forum page (http://geoffers.uni.cc/user/register) at the bottom .

A new favicon was already on its way, but your post made me actually do it, an aqua G.

Spelling mistake fixed.

It's quite nice indeed, though (perhaps I am mistaken) I believe this is quite similar to a default drupal template? Especially seeing as the logo next to your header is the drupal logo. But let's get beyond this issue and delve further into the design:

Obviously, tables have been used for design. Blah, blah, blah, you know the rest of this critique. One nice little thing though, atleast the tables aren't too convuluted...!

The middle column's fluidity works great on a browser window with a size of 1024x768 or greater, but on an 800x600 screen the side columns are equal to if not greater than the middle column. This just seems a little odd as your middle column appears to be where you might want your viewer's to focus, not to mention it holds the bulk of your content.

Past that, I quite like it. Your font size isn't too miniscule and I don't have to squint just to read your text. It looks like your are still in a bit of a development phase (i.e. your other sites are still their old layout), so I imagine things will just get better from here. Good Luck!

Yeah, modified version of the standard drupal template, gonna change the logo sometime, not decided what's it replacement will be yet, as for the tables, as I said, I was going to recode the template.

Just a note that I've deleted the poll in this thread, as like most Site Reviews, they really are counterproductive.

That was actually an after thought of me, so no need to worry...

Looks good Easy to read, nice and clear.
The logo could really use a little clean up though
I noticed you're republishing all my blog posts...and under the heading 'Misc'... I'm not sure how I feel about that... :\

ummm...

How about utilising Antoniohawk's tree menu or something similar and making that part an expanding list of feeds from blogs you read? Each blog name could be the list item and clicking it would cause it to expand and show the titles of the most recent posts from that site (links). You could make a simple JS function that closes any other blog feed list when another one is clicked.
I just don't see the point in linking to every post from a single blog, regardless of the author. (and especially if it's my garbage!)

Hmm... And I'm already lost in the code Once I've found myself, maybe.

Good idea, I'll start work on that when I have the time...

I'm thinking if I should change the colours... What do you think of this colour set?

The blue/grey reminds me of Microsoft's site And I have to agree on the logo. The Aqua thing's been done to death I think. Another thing is that I've always found black text on grey backgrounds to be a very depressing contrast. Maybe light beige or something with some form of colour in it?

The top nav, lacks a lil ........ punch, perhaps some imagery or flash. And I too was reminder of microsoft because of the colors. I'm not very fond of using grey though. But overall, very nice!
