Question Creating printer-friendly pages

This is probably simple, but how do I create a script for creating
printer friendly pages when clicking on a link. I don't want to have a link to another text only page but rather have the new page open with only the text on it. Maybe using some tag to determine the actual start and finish of the text. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for your help.
