Programer Wanted

I need a backend created similar to the one found at www.good-tutorials.com. Some specifications:

-Output recently added tutorials to a main page
-Record as display tutorial information like name, description, total clicks, monthly clicks, date added
-Submission form for new tutorials
-Unique previews for tutorials
-A control panel with the ability to add and remove categories, add, remove, and move tutorials, edit tutorials, output various statistics to both the control panel and the site

I'm looking for quotes, what language it would be best to be created in, and an estimated completion date after hiring.

A small preview image, like a sample. Mabye 40x40 or 50x50.

If you want a quote, you need to provide a more detailed design specification than that.
Do you have a front end design?
What kind of data besides text will tutorial include: images, individual formating, video, etc.
Exact list of fields associated with tutorials.
Exact description of content and functionality of each page, flow between the pages.

From what you described so far, I would charge around $5,000 - $8,000 for a custom backend like that....

Wow, that quote is amazingly high. I have one coder who will do it for 200, one who will do it for 600, and now 5-8k rofl.

Just make sure I won't be the one laughing when you are back asking for your project to be done over and this time right

very true, quality vs price is allways a issue. a study done a while back found that most companies that went with the cheaper part allmost allways found out the hard way they get what they pay for. in this case a 5th rate product that will need to be rewritten and pay extra each time something needs to be changed to it, poor security,etc..

and also. you didnt give a good clear example of what you want and a description of everything you need. in our world(programmers, developers, and designers) we call people who do this fishers. meaning all you are looking for is the cheapest and not really looking to "buy". if you gave a better understanding as well as perhaps a "rfp" aka request for proposal. you might have a better chance at finding what you want at a price you would expect from professionals.

So ? Pik the 200 guy.

The stuff you ask for is so common, that 15 minutes browsing around at www.hotsrcipts.com will get you a tool that'll be able to do this (possibly with some minor tweaks).
Every experienced coder will have code lying around for that sort of basic, standard, functionalitys.

But it's a completely boring and not realy intellectually challenging project so why would an experienced coder choose it over other projects he can start on? (Well, i wount in any casen, and maybe that's why you get so few responses.)

Your requirements are also so vague that it's impossible to give an accurate fixed-price quote. As soon as they are refined or translated in acceptance criteria, the quote could change completely, so maybe Vladdy gave you a 'worst-case-requirements' quote ...
