I downloaded a Flash template that loads content from text files in /txt/ folder. It works fine when I am viewing the webpage on my local machine, but not when over a network or when uploaded to my server.
For example, I tried to view my webpage from another computer on my network - the flash showed up but the content areas were blank. The ssame thing happens when I upload the files to my web host - but everything shows up fine on my local comp.
I played around the text file permission on my server but that did not help... any ideas?
ok im trying to think about this i think i have had a run in with what your dealing with you have a flash template or design and you have flash text and its not showing up. Is the file linked right or maybe idk if the dhcp would have anything to do with it im just making suggestions. i wish i could help alittle more but i need to know alittle more information i hope this might have helped alittle.
the flash file is locked so I cannot open it to view it. I am pretty sure that the flash file looks for the relative directory of ./txt/ which works fine when the file is stored locally. Yet when I access the file from a network or intetnet connection, the text will not show up.
One curious thing, is that the text for the navigation and the title works fine - it's just the content text files that don't work.
yes i am having the same problem with my flash file. I have a html file that loads the flash movie and the flash movie gets dynamic header text loaded from the html file. when I have the html file and the flash file in the same directory locally, it works but when I call the flash file from the server, it loads the flash and graphic but the text do not show up. If you found a solution, please post it. thanks.
botsko.net your test site works fine for me i see all of the links and all of the content, as for the notebook can u post your swf file in a zip file and if u have the fla file also that would be great if not thats fine i will see what i can come up with from the swf file

there isnt a text file. the html file loads the swf i have added the ?header=header_name after the .swf which suppose to display the header_name in swf...but its not doing it....sorry i couldnt be more specific its hard to explain
basically what i am trying to achieve is that I have bunch of headers on a page that is dynamically changed so instead of making hundreads of grphics i have gone with flash so i can keep the design and load the text in to it....if that helps understand any
