Hi

Well i wanted to know were do we find Interrupt handler in an operating system and why ?

I know what is interrupt handler: the program that controls what actions should be taken by the O.S. when a sequence of events is interrupted

I know there are different types of interrupt handlers like hardware, software etc. But i wanted to know were do we find these software handlers in an O.S.
The O.S. could be any O.S.

Can anyone help me. Plz

Anykind of help wld be appreciated

Try the following pages: <http://www.beyondlogic.org/interrupts/interupt.htm>, <http://foldoc.doc.ic.ac.uk/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?interrupt>

So, that's interupts. Returning to FOLDOC, we can find Interupt Handlers as well, <http://foldoc.doc.ic.ac.uk/foldoc/fo...errupt+handler>.

Well, to continue on Googling, we can find articles such as <http://mega.ist.utl.pt/~fjds/inthandlers1.html> or OS programming documentation such as <http://ivs.cs.uni-magdeburg.de/~pure...l/progman.html>.

I guess your best shot would be to look at some simple or well structured OS source code though, see how they do it. See if you can find interupt handlers within BeOS, HURD, PURE, FreeDOS, OpenDOS, BSD or linux source code.
