Small job for good coder. Make a single page code compliant.
Notices
Welcome to the "Web Projects" forums. Before you post, make sure you've selected the correct category based on the size of your project (in US dollars), or whether it is a partnership or "looking for work" request instead. Observe the guidelines for this section:
To all thread starters, check your "pm" box for responses, as that's how bidders will be communicating with you mainly using. You can turn on new pm notification by going to "User CP"-> "Edit Options"-> "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages".
To respondents, avoid replying to a thread with a short generic response like "pm sent" as much as possible. It is pointless and clutters up the screen.
To respondents, don't reply to a work request with a summary of your resume. If you're not willing to spend the time to at least read the request and respond specifically to the request, then don't reply. The Web Projects forum isn't a place to get your resume/ portfolio posted on as many threads as possible, it's for the direct, human interaction between coder and client. Members who blanket the forums with their resume replies will be treated as spammers and banned.
To all thread starters, please update your thread's prefix to "resolved", when you've found a coder for your project or partnership (or wish to terminate the request). This is so coders don't waste time bidding on an invalid project. To do this, click on the "Edit" button under the first post of the thread, then the "Go Advanced" button. You have 14 days to update your thread's title.
I can usually do this stuff myself, but since there is flash involved and since I didn't build the page myself, I just don't seem to have the feel for it.
I will pay whatever is fair, or whatever the going rate is for a job like this. I am paypal verified.
Can someone please take a look, and do this job for me?
Okay, I am almost done... BTW, erlier when this post said $5, Ill do it free I have it cut down to only 2 errors in HTML rite now... All I have left to do is convert it to XHTML instead of HTML...
l3vi: You're going to have to replace all those <font>'s with CSS to get it to XHTML, so maybe you should accept the proposed payment
(Wish I'd gotten here earlier, I can always use ten bucks )
Also, setting up a paypal account is a great idea if you plan on doing many of these 'odd jobs'. I've used them for this sort of thing before, and it was much easier than sending a cheque from NYC to Australia!
EDIT- it looks like my host went down. My site is down, but so is my hosting provider's site. Damn. I hope you have what you need. Maybe it will come up soon.
Nah mate, it's all good
Wouldn't feel right accepting payment after jumpin in in front of l3vi.
If you want it as XHTML just let me know. That would be a fair bit more work as I'd have to copy the site locally and replace all <font> tags and align="" attributes. ( I think l3vi was most of the way through that conversion anyhoo).
I'd also replace all <strong> tags with proper heading elements <h1-6>.
****ATTN: in the code above, the class .a s s has been replaced by .*** due to the forum's anti-swearing filter. Make sure to change that back
Hmmm... interesting...
Works for me on IE6 and Mozilla....
Though it doesn't look quite right anymore.
I'll attach my file, just change the extension from .txt to .html and give this one a try
I think the swearing filter has played more havoc that I originally thought!
*edit: If you're using dial-up and IE, the game wont start until the whole thing has loaded...I'm fixing that now and will alter the attachment when done
***2nd Edit* All fixed Tested in IE5, 5.5, 6 and Mozilla 1.6.
Thank you to Andrew, to l3vi, and to CodingForums.com
I am so used to people only being interested in what they can get from each other, but you guys were sincerely interested in helping me, and even refused my payment. I'm afraid I might wake up soon and find this was all a dream, but I hope not. You guys are great, and I can't believe how well you have treated me, a new member who just joined the forum yesterday.
I'm just not sure what else to say. THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
