Dual Boot

Hello!

I have a Win2000 OS with NTFS file system, while my HDD capacity is 60G. There is only one partition (drive c: ) which is formated with NTFS.
Now i need to install Win98 OS. I know that i need a FAT16 or FAT32 file system and one more partition, but i have no idea how can i perform the task.

Can anyone help me, please?

Thank you.
Tatiana

Well it would require that you reformat and repartition the hard drive...

Here are a couple of good articles for you to read about it... Gives you some very good information...

Not necesisarily!

You can "resize" your existing partition tables using a program like bootitNG (do a google search on it). I've used it to resize my partitions to allow for a dual-boot WinXP / RH9 system.

Note of caution: when ever messing with partitions, ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST!

Also wouldn't hurt to do a defrag before as well.

True carl, but I have had more bad experiences with shrinking the partition... But I should say it the politically correct way...

For best results when setting up a multi-boot on one hard drive, it is far better to do so with a clean formatted hard drive...

Fair enough.

Of course if your on linux, you can set up LVM to allocate "partition chunks" as needed, but I digress.
