I like the black, adds contrast to it, gives it attention. The logo at the top is a little funky with it's anti-aliasing on the circle sides, might want to adjust that. I can help you make it look more like a bubble or plastic or drop shadow if you need as well?

Is this too basic or good?
I did one with a shadow (and the black/lime background so no excessive blotchy transparency) and one without.

Logo2 looks a bit
(don't know how to put it into words), however, once you've added the background in Logo1 it looks very good.
The site now uses Logo1, now that makes it look 5 million times better, thank you 5 million times

The green in the applications image looks like a different shade than the background to me.
