Netbanx allows you to setup a store and only payment goes through them, quite a proessional method methinks.

Paypal is similar but to pay for goods your customers must open - or have - paypal accounts. That might not be so bad but will probably put some people off.

There are other services out there, CCNow springs to mind.

A couple other good ones that come to mind are ibill and echo .

Echo, in particular, gives you the ability to have a merchant account and gateway for a fraction of the cost since they are a direct clearinghouse. Their transactions take a bit more setup (no out of box product), but they have numerous scripts available to tweak with for PHP, ASP, and Perl in the works.

It all depends on what you are doing. Are you doing recurring billing for a subscription/membership service? Are you just taking Visa, or Master Card, Amex, Discover, etc, as well?
What are your expected transaction sizes?
What do you expect your monthly totals to be?
Do you also have a physical location to conduct business in?
What kind of shopping cart system do you have?

All of these affect your choices.

More food for thought, without all those pesky calories!

ahmedsoliman,

As Pete stated, there are many factors that you need to consider when selecting a payment solution. If you are expecting more than 12-20 transaction per month (also dependent on average ticket amount), I would recommend a solution using a true merchant account ($$$ ON THE NET(tm) , Verisign, etc.). These solutions have some setup costs and you must get a merchant account through a bank. Long term though, with high volume or high average ticket amounts, your cost will be lower than using Person to Person (P2P) payment solutions for a merchant web site.

With the various P2P solutions (Paypal, iBill, etc.), your initial setup is cheaper and sometimes free but your ongoing fees can be significantly higher. Also, with using P2P solutions for a merchant site, expect to lose at least 10% of your potential business because customers will not want to jump though all the hoops setting up an account with these third party payment providers.

Lastly, I hate to mention solutions like Paypal because there are so many horror stories out there and many of them involve all funds in the merchants account being held without any recourse.

I am a beginner in web design, and my first project is a online mall,
The mall have many shops for example (addidas, nike, sony,….), the customer will buy via visa card or master card .
If someone will buy T-shirt from (addidas) cost 100$ for example, 95$ will goes to addidas bank account, 2$ for shipping company bank account and 3$ for the mall account.
I expect about 25 transactions per month maximum.
The products prices will be between 5$ to 3000$.
The total summation of sales will be about 2500$ per month at the first.
Visa card or master card.
No physical location.

I want the easiest and cheapest way to support my site with online payment,
But I concern about low fees for one transaction, no setting up an account with these third party payment providers.

When you say "mall" do you mean with different vendors setting up shop or do you mean just a having a variety of brands and merchandise that you will be selling yourself?

You cannot take payments for other vendors. Each one needs their own merchant account. I believe the term used is "factoring" and that will get your merchant account canceled if you try to do take payments for others.

A mall is pretty ambitious for a first-timer project. What are you using? Your own custom written script, or something already on the market, like Miva Merchant?

Good Luck

Pete

Miva Merchant is a shopping cart/mall solution used mostly by Linux hosts. You can learn all about it here http://www.miva.com.

If you are going to be running a true mall, you cannot take payments for your individual vendors. Each will need their own payment solution.

Is this what you were thinking of doing? Try explain as much about what you would like to do and how you envision it working, in order for people to provide you with the best suggestions/advice/sales pitches
