Accessing and Changing File Extension

I had absolutley no idea where to post this, but I thought that it might have some relevance here. Here's what I want to do:

- Search for certain file extension within a certain directory
- Copy a file on my harddrive
- Rename the file extension
- Open my new file

Not even sure if this is possible, but I want to create a program that does these things so i dont have to. I'd be much in debt to anyone that could set me in the right direction for a project like this.

Mhtml is an unknown quantity at this point
Well I think with only a day learning c++ and winapi basics you could very easily accomplish this.

I would start at www.cprogramming.com ...

I was thinking that c++ or the like would be the way to go. Thanks Mhtml.
