W2K Pro Task Manger

Here is the question: in previous version of Windows you could go into task manager and delete everything (but Explore) or just go to regedit; in W2K there are 3 subfolders Applications, Processes and Perfomance. I can kill everything at Applications, but almost nothing at Processes. And i couldn't find track of them at registry. They are useful programs, but I don't want them to be loaded at start up.

Roy Sinclair will become famous soon enough
Among the processes list you'll see some of the internal windows code which you wouldn't want to terminate anyway but you can also see the Services which are running. In the Administrative Tools folder you'll find a link to the Services MMC (you can also get there from the "Manage Computer" MMC). You can stop/start services there and also control when/if they are started as you boot.

As for ordinary applications look in the "Startup" folder first and then in the registry \\HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
