...depends on the format of the results you are getting , if the resources you are searching use webservices or have thier own API (eg google) then its possible and straightforward....
If you end up having to parse HTML output then its more hassle than its worth , even though its easy enough to parse HTML output with PHP (XHTML even easier) , you have no control over if & when the supplier changes thier format and breaks your parser.
thats where XML feeds are useful , you know what to expect each and every time.
so where is your data coming from ?
MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)
