Tcl/tk

Hi everybody!

I am one of those really nice and really cool programmers who know quite a few languages (eg: PERL, PHP, ASP) but ive gotten sick of them and now im learning TCL (pronouced: tickle).

The version of TCL that I downloaded (http://www.activestate.com) was excellent but provides very little help on how to make web-based TCL pages. So far ive worked out that the command 'PUTS' is the same as the perl version of 'PRINT' ... but thats about it.

If someone (anyone) has any tutorials on TCL with them (which was written in the 80's so you should) please leave a link below ... it would be greatly appreciated!

[NOTE: i would highly recommend to everyone that they atleast have a look at this language as it is an advanced version of PERL, the best language of all (then PHP and then last is ASP) ... no offence]

I think outside of the 'standard' web scripting languages I would suggest that Python is probably the next in the food chain, perhaps better suited for web-based stuff than tcl - grab python from www.python.org it makes heavy use of TCL/tk and there is a mod_python for apache knocking around somewhere (and a mod_tcl I think)

Thing is the lack of documentation of any language is a worry and tcl is lacking just that (as far as I recal from my dallyings with it)

yeah?i am making my final project in tcl/tk but i am in learing process and its tough i think but maybe will be easy later i hope
i have a really cool book its tcl/tk a developer,s guide by clif flynt but its on my pc so send me ur email address i will mail it if u need it
