Prototypepc is an unknown quantity at this point
hi guys

Good evening guys,
I found this site using google searching for website coding,

now im not sure if this is in the correct spot because i know nothing of coding so i dont know if this is javascript or not but if i needed help programing an ecommerce site.

The section of the site involves selling custom computers.
http://unikocreativegroup.com/artwor...ype/build.html

there is the link to it,
basically I need the customer to be able to see a list of products on the smaller list closest to the picture of the case, then as they click the arrow to the left and right of the case u move down the list until u find a part you want.

once u select the part it goes all the way to the right and you move on the next part.

What type of coding is this?

Yes, you'd most likely use JavaScript with this.

But then you would also need backend code (e.g., PHP or JSP or ASP) to process the order and payment and presumably get payment authorization from some credit card processor and and and...

If you know nothing of coding, and you expect to be able to do this yourself, be ready to spend the next few months learning enough to code it. Or be prepared to hire somebody to do it for you.

It's not easy. And eCommerce *MUST* be ultra-secure. There are stringent requirements, for example, on how you handle credit card numbers if you don't use a third-party service to do it for you. There are a *LOT* of details you must get right.

Do consider paying a professional. You'll be up and running a lot faster.

@Prototypepc - This site is not Facebook. Do please read the posting guidelines regarding silly thread titles. The thread title is supposed to help people who have a similar problem in future. Yours is useless for this purpose. You can (and should) edit it to make it more meaningful.

If you know nothing about coding then I would say that the possibility of you being able to create an e-commerce site yourself is zero.

All advice is supplied packaged by intellectual weight, and not by volume. Contents may settle slightly in transit.
