FTP? Filezilla Error message

Need help with the Filezilla FTP error message -

I got the website uploaded, with the help of a friend as there was a redirect on the homepage (I gave him the FTP username and password etc and he fixed this), but now I need to change 2 of the pages, and Filezilla will no longer connect to the server!

It says this error message:

Status: Resolving address of ftp.jonathanmccree.com
Status: Connecting to 213.171.193.5:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220-Matrix FTP server ready.
Response: 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response: 220 Please note: files for your website must be stored under the htdocs directory.
Command: USER jonathanmccree.com
Response: 331 User jonathanmccree.com OK. Password required
Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Authentication failed, sorry
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

And I am absolutely positive the password/username are correct. Could it be from when my friend logged in using the FTP info? Need it to work again.

Thank you,
K.

This is absolutely nothing at all to do with Javascript.

Sounds like your "friend" has changed the password.

You must enter the password exactly as is, usually everything regarding FTP login is case sensitive. Make sure there are no leading or trailing blanks.

Probably a moot point, but

I don't use filezilla so I do not know if this option is availible to you or not. With my FTP client program (FTP Commander) there is an option to mask/unmask the password (this will not provide the actually password used for the server if it has changed, but will help in figuring out typos when you enter the information.. I know there are times I hit the wrong key (or accidently enable the caps lock while typing)..

Does your server have a cpanel or other type of interface where you could reset the password...

The statements do say the username had been approved; however with the authentication line it does say that the password is invalid. You may want to check if the keyboard settings are correct (caps-lock off & num-lock on if you use the keypad).

If your website is providing by a domain/website hosting service; I do recommend having the service reset your password.

I hope this helps.
