multiple user profiles in columns

hi everybody,

first of all, I am quite new to server-based coding and am still reading up on the essentials. Now here is what I try to accomplish: After users have registered, I want profile excerpts to be displayed in multiple columns, something similar to http://www.epals.com/find-classroom....=&search_text=
I would be really grateful for some advice on how to do this.

Are you asking how to make a div and put text into it or are you asking how to make a three column or more page? Or is it the different div heights that you want?
