IE reformats and renames my images

God hates IE and so don't I.

Anyhow, just because I hate IE and 99.99% of other devs do too, consumers still use it...

Here's my issue: I have a website that in FF, Chrome, Safari, what-have-you, everything besides IE, if you right-click and save as it will do its' thing like normal and save the image for you with the name and extension and all that.

IN IE: If you right-click and save as, it not only renames the said image to "untitled", but it reformats it as a PNG when the original is JPG. Wtf?

There is no .htaccess, web.config, anything that i see, as far as i can tell, that is doing this.

Wtf is going on? I have never in my life seen this before - anyone have an idea of what is going on?

I am unable to replicate your problem with IE.

I have seen IE change the format of images when it has memory problems. The first thing to try is to clear the browser cache and see if that makes any difference.
