Date comes out as numbers?!

When i pick the date: 28-01-2013 when i echo it out, it comes out as: 1358613056

I would like it to be 2013-01-28

Please help?

Depends on what you did to it. If you select from a db with a datetime type, this is treated as a string in PHP (even the timestamp datatype should come as a string I believe). If you've run it through strtotime than it will be an integer which you can then format using the date() function.

Is it already an integer? 1969-Dec-31 / 1970-Jan-1 is unix epoch indicating that the argument it received results in its integer time as being 0.
strtotime is only used if its a string date such as 28-01-2013.

Are you posting the date in through a form? If so is the value of the form date field "1359652166" or is it being converted in your script somewhere?

The JS is quite irrelevant.
What is it you receive from the submitted form to the PHP code? Is it: 1359652166? If so, you need for format just that using date() and give that to the SQL command as a string.

Than it looks to me that your JS is the problem. It's not providing the selection to the form field.
Oh, and I assume you are extracting $renewaldate from $_POST['renewaldate'] since register_globals are gone.
