doing a chat box using html

Is there a code to put a Chat Box on a webpage, like you would see in a text based mmorpgs. In the middle of making a text based mmorpg by html. That is the only thing that i real need help with atm. So if some one could give me or hint me towards this.

It requires quite a bit of know-how to make a chat box. I would suggest having it done by someone professional or using a plugin.
