hello,
i operate a magazine site on wordpress. my srticles are usually between 200-1000 words with few pictures or videos if any. now i will post an article of 5000 + words with many pictures and videos.

would this have a negative effect on my site or tables or databases in any way?

this will just be one of the thousands of articles in my site

Short answer: No.

5 MILLION words might make an impact. But 5000 words (say around 35,000 bytes?) is way way down in the "noise level". You'll never notice it.
