Gmail Filter not Functioning

'Home' Address is FOO1@gmail.com

1. Filter Applied to FOO1 Account
Matches: fromFOO2@gmail.com)
Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "FOO2 Mail"

2. FOO2@gmail.com Configured
FOO2@gmail.com is configured to automatically forward to FOO1@gmail.com
(This works)

3. Test is Run but Fails
FOO1@gmail.com sends message to FOO2@gmail.com.
Email gets sent and gets forwarded back to FOO1@gmail.com
It sits in the Inbox and doesn't even show up in the 'sub mailbox' called FOO2 MAIL" I created for the account.

I want mail from that account to skip the inbox and sit in the subfolder FOO2 MAIL because google doesn't allow you to be logged into two accounts simultaneously on the same computer (or some similar rule).

What's the issue?

Not sure what you mean with 'google doesn't allow you to be logged into two accounts simultaneously on the same computer' - I am often logged in on 4 gmail accounts at the same time on the same computer!

Simply go to your email address, right top corner, and 'Add Account' - after you have logged in on your 2nd account, you will find under your email address, right top corner, the option to flick between both email accounts - or even follow the previous process 'Add Account' to open another account if you wish.

Alternatively, you can indeed forward post from one account to the other under 'Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP' - Add a forwarding address and set if you wish to keep a copy in your main account.

Hopefully this will help you and solve your issue.

Thanks for the multi-account tip; that was very helpful. Previously when I'd load a second tab in a browser and sign into a different account I would need to sign out of my other account which was not desirable.

I'm still seeking an answer to my original question; hopefully someone else will be able to provide a solution.

Hi again!

It seems you have followed the right process, though maybe you want to double check the info you put in the filter, to see if it is correct and complete.

Besides this, I don't see anything wrong in the process you have followed...
You have applied the filter after ticking the Foo2 email in your Foo1 inbox, haven't you?!
