Anyone used initializr - comments pls?

Hi I am thinking of using this template which is a HTML5 based.

Here is the demo page: http://www.initializr.com/try

It looks awesome and would really fit into certain pages of my site.

I guess I am looking for people's comments and experience.

My users are mostly Chrome at 46% (Chrome 22.0) and Firefox 16.0

Thanks for all feedback -

PS I should add that my audience are very tech saavy and I think that increasingly they will read my pages on handheld hence my intention to "be ready" for that day.

Thanks!

I don’t see anything that would make this template special or primarily suitable for tech-savvy people, or even specific to HTML 5. This is a plain ol’ two column template that could as well be HTML 4. The only thing that makes it “responsive” to different screen resolutions is the CSS media queries which is CSS 3, but that has nothing to do with HTML 5. The template has bloated and unnecessary code, however, the only purpose of which is to emulate the few trivial HTML 5 elements there are in older browsers that don’t support them natively.

Go ahead and use it, if you like. It certainly wouldn’t be the end of the world. But it’s not a masterpiece of engineering in my opinion. There is nothing that couldn’t be done with current standards, in terms of looks.
