IE9 on XP

Can it be done? I've read up on it and apparently you cannot install IE9 on an XP machine....Latest I have is IE8 which isn't really good enough with the introduction of IE9.

It's Microsoft Internet Explorer yet you can't install the latest version on a Microsoft Windows XP machine?

Are they for real?

Has anyone got around this and installed it?

I have lived with this horrendous marketing decision for some time. Have found no solution. BUT windows 8 is out and for appox. $45 you can upgrade and get IE9.

Not sure if I'm going to do that. Have to wait and see what other people think of w8 first.

Thanks for the reply. I went on the MSN homepage and found a review on Win8 and it wasn't good! The beta testers seem to think it's a load of cr*p! Really need to upgrade to Win7

Per system requirements from MSDN ( link ) XP is not supported for IE9.
