LogMeIn is a service. I don't think ANYone offers a free remote desktop access solution. You will either pay for software that is installed, or a monthly fee for a monthly service solution.

Redcoder has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Teamviewer is a good alternative. Probably even better than LogMein.

perhaps the better question is, what are you trying to accomplish?

( also teamviewer is cool but the last time i used it, it uses port 80 as it's outgoing port so dont forget to change the default settings if you have a test server running)

Also Teamviewer is free for personal use only. If you use it enough times for commercial use they will find out. How I don't know but I wouldn't risk it.

AAMy is the free remote desktop connection. It is very easy to use.
