Internet Explorer IE8 trouble (z-index, positioning...)

Here's my website in Firefox 16. Everything looks exactly how I want it.

Here's my website in IE8. Terrible. Positioning is wrong with multiple divs. The dropdown menu (which has a z-index of 999) is under the next div.

I need help. What's going on with Internet Explorer?

Anyone who wants to look at the source files,
