Simple Joomla 2.5 menu and article question.

Hi again

So im using joomla 2.5 for my website. I made a horizontal main menu and for one of the main menu option I made a vertical left menu. It should look like this: horizontal main menu has a link called products and when clicked on products a vertical left menu appears with categories of products, once you click on a category from your left menu it should display a list of products under that category. My problem is when I click on a left menu category and goes to a single article product list my left menu disappears. I need my left menu to keep showing.
