I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled again and from firefox it is gone but although i did the same to chrome it is still there. And from the chrome options i can not get rid of it as it even managed to change the settings and options stuff for chrome.

How can I get rid of this unwanted toolbar and search engine that frustrates me so much. Please help me to get rid of this.

Unfortunately, you've infected yourself with aggressive spyware that you can't simply remove by uninstalling it. The longer you wait with this type of spyware, the more it will infect your computer with different programs and trash that you really don't need. Please don't take any other words of advice (other than my suggestion below) from this forum or any other besides the one I'm linking to below.

I highly suggest going onto http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/, making an account the the forums, and posting in the "Am I infected? What do I do?" section. In that forum they will help you run scans, ask for logs, etc... When they decide that your issue is no longer relevant for that forum, they will urge you to make a new thread in a different forum (they'll tell you which one) that corresponds to the problem.

Don't wait, act upon this spyware today. Make sure that through the process of talking to the people on bleepingcomputer.com that you don't make any global changes to your computer as this could render all of the logs, work and conversation you had useless to the experts at bleepingcomputer.com and require you to go through the whole process again. Also remember that when dealing with the experts on this subject, you must be patient. Often times it takes a few days for your first post to be responded to, but be assured it will be acknowledged. In this time period you have to be careful of what you download and change to your computer.

Good luck and safe surfing.

krome has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Try this.

With the mouse, click your Start Button.

Click Set Program Access And Defaults

Choose Custom and click OK at the bottom.

From there you can delete any unwanted toolbar from your PC
You can also delete other unwanted programs from there.

I hope this helps.

1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight SafeMode with Networking , and then press ENTER
4. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. Open the Windows Task Manager.
If that didn’t work, try another way. Press the Start button and click on the Run option. This will start the Run tool. Type in taskMGR and press OK. This should start the Windows Task Manager
5. Within the Windows Task Manager click on the Processes tab. Find the process by name. random.exe. Then scroll the list to find required process. Select it with your mouse or keyboard and click on the End Process button. This will kill the process.
6.Delete associated files of mysearchresults.com Redirect virus:
C:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini
C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.exe
7. Remove registry entries of mysearchresults.comRedirect virus:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\Random.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\run\Random.exe
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\5ATIUYW62OUOMNBX256 “(Default)”=”1?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\“UninstallString” = “‘%AppData%\[RANDOM]\[RANDOM].exe” -u
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\“ShortcutPath” = “‘C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\5ATIUYW62OUOMNBX256.exe” -u’”
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce “5ATIUYW62OUOMNBX256” = “‘C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Random.exe’

Hope this helps to fix your issue.

Everything below and above this post besides my original post should not be listened to. On every computer, there are different registry options and different settings that need to be taken care of. Don't take the advice of inexperienced computer users. Do yourself a favor and go to a reliable website like the one lined to in my first post.

I now officially "close" this thread to the full extent of my power (which is really nothing).
