dns set up question

OK, so godaddy has been brought down today and it has me wondering...

if I were to have had the name servers for my sites set to be with two different registrars, eg the first with godaddy and the second with 'anexampleregistrar.com', would the failing of the godaddy name server have automatically sent page requests to the other name server so that my sites would still be accessible?

I think you can create additional NS records but not many DNS hosts / registrars offer it.

The best I have found is freedns.afraid.org. Many very good options and its all free. There are subscriber packages available if you want extra but its one of the best as a free service. It's also very rarely down and has 4 dns servers. If one is offline your request should automatically go to another server.
