Cant access my router via IP address

I'm trying to coonnect to my routers web interface. I got the ip address of it (192.168.1.1), but it doesnt connect, either with http or https, however, the way it's connected goes,

Router -> Hub -> Laptop

Could this be because it's trying to connect to the hub rather than the router?

could do, just try plugging directly from the laptop to the router, see if that makes a difference

alykins will become famous soon enough
you may also want to try 192.168.1.0, or 192.168.1.2... Sometimes the IP the router occupies is not the IP that the web interface is presented through.

make sure your IP is correct. go to command prompt and type ipconfig and see if the IP is listed. if not check if your router properly connected to your computer

open up a terminal via hitting the start button then then typing cmd and hit enter.

in the terminal enter the following command ipconfig

be good if you could either a. post a screen shot of that window by pressing prtscn key and then going into paint and going to edit=>paste, and then save it and upload to say image shack or tiny pic

I am not sure if you can copy to the clipboard from the windows terminal or not....
