Can one take the AP Computer Science, BC, Exam effectively with little knowledge of terminology and similar, but good practical knowledge of the langauge which exceeds the posted standards?
I have a fairly good working knowledge of Java; I can do low-level animations, understand threads, and understand all of the standards of AP Computer Science, BC, which is in Java.
However, I do not, for instance, know what the "." (I've heard it called the "dot-separator") is called officially, or much else of the official terminology.
I have been given the opportunity to test out of this class.
I HAVE NOT been given the opportunity to take this class.
If I do not test out, I will not touch Object-Oriented programming for a few years in the classroom.
Academically speaking, would this be a good idea for someone in my position?
