Question When you look for a change in your job...what do you say?

Hi

I wanted to know how / what do you exactly say to the interviewer when you look for a change from your current job and the reason is increment of your salary. Do you directly say that you are looking for a job just for the sake of money?

Thanks for sharing your views?

During last four years I've changed job thrice. Surely, it is bit suspicious for employer. ;-)

However, usually my goal was not only to increase salary (though it was quite important surely), but also to find more interesting projects or collectives where I could better grow in professional sense. So usually I told mainly about these ambitions, rather than about salary matters.

Anyway you should keep in mind that employers' HRs or tech-leads who holds interview are not "just fallen from the moon" and they understand two main reasons of changing job:
- salary lower than wishes;
- boring projects/bosses/colleagues.

Usually you'd better to avoid blaming your previous job, salary or colleagues. ;-)

thanks for your reply sir.

But suppose you dont tell them that salary is one of your concern and you just tell em you are changing because you are looking for more interesting projects, what if the HR promises you to give you an opportunity to work on interesting projects but that they will offer you the same salary package that you are currently drawing in your current company?

What will be your response at that time? How will you convince them that salary is also a reason for the change?

Thanks again

I think this is not a right way, you can explain the reason with other topic. You can say that you want explore yourself.
