This purpose of forum to help other users who have specific problems with JavaScript. We are not here to supply definitions.
You propose a definition, and then perhaps others will comment.

I would have thought that have definitions for some JavaScript terminology would be helpful, it would help with beginners understanding what other users say when replying to their posts.

Validation Routine- In computer science, data validation is the process of ensuring that a program operates on clean, correct and useful data.

Would anyone think this is correct?

Well, as you have copied it from Wikipedia it is probably OK.
Google and/or Wikipedia are the proper ways to find answers to your question - not this forum.

It well could be, and if you wanted to create a web page that does that, go for it.

But it makes no sense to try to create a thread here with that information, as once nobody posts in the thread for a few hours it will disappear into the old pages, seldom to be seen again.
