adobe illustrator help

I was wondering if anyone out there is familiar with Illustrator??

I am new to it and I am trying to figure out how someone created the large capital "A" in the attached .jpg file. After typing it, I tried to free distort but that wasn't the right thing to do. I thought someone would know. If not in Illustrator, does anyone know how to do it in Photoshop?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Type your letter A in Illustrator, select it, then go to Type > Create Outlines

This will make it into a shape rather than a letter so you can change it.

Go to the toolbox and pick the hollow arrow tool - this lets you select each anchor point separately.

Move each point to wherever you need it. (This works the same way as the path tool in Photoshop).
