Multi-level JQuery selection menu

Hey Everyone,

First and foremost - WOW, i'm back! it's been a VERY long time since I last haunted these halls but I missed it so!

Time has passed, life has progressed, and I'm now doing an unpaid internship and their website needs a MAJOR enhancement.

The UI is horrid due to the 30+ pages one can scroll through to find requisite tools. I have an idea to vastly enhance the navigability but I need help. My idea is as follows:

This site is CMS / Database populated so I can 'tag' different entries under different categories. The categories are "Country", "Sector", and "Type".

I would like to set it up such that the main selection area is split into 3 different columns displaying the 3 categories above. Once a user makes a selection from one or more of the 3 columns, their choice will refine the links outputted, from which they can select relevant links to display. I created an image to help convey what I mean:

is this possible in JQuery?

I look forward to your input.

Sincerely,

Jay

Are you sure

I do not see any reference to it, but there are a lot of javascripts on the pages.

Hi,

I just started my internship last Wednesday but that's what the sys admin told me =\ I'm not hired (read: exploited) to redo the site, actually to update the content, but I felt that we need to make accessing the content more manageable. Otherwise updating the content won't make a difference if nobody is scrolling through 30 pages of randomly assorted tools...

That said, if it can't I'm open to using JS.

I found a free example that does something similar to what I want (I think), but i want to know if it can be modified to work like I outlined above:
http://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widg...remotedata.htm

or maybe this: http://www.jqwidgets.com/jquery-widg...fromselect.htm

Basically I need people to make selections from the 3 first columns, and based off the selections the "links" section will repopulate accordingly.

Can this be done?
