I want to add Flash animations

First I need to figure out FreeHostia, but what is a good way (program) to add Flash animations to a website? Adobe Flash is a program that costs almost $1000. I don't have that kind of money. I want something free. Is Gimp good?

A really nice (and inexpensive) flash program to get started with is Koolmoves. Cost is $49. I have used it, and it is fairly easy to use, and awesome for the price. Check them out at http://koolmoves.com/
