is it possible to create/is there already a tickbox for a website that a user could tick when registering to make the site their homepage???

There used to be a javascript for IE5 specifically. (no longer exists for IE).

It's really browser dependent, being part of the browser tools.

The reason of course is ... sites would always try to force it to be themselves.
