Arrow My new home page

Hello!
I recently put up a new version of my home page, http://www.mooseman-net.com and was wondering if there are any improvements I could make. Thanks!

Lerura will become famous soon enough
2 thing could need improvement.

1) though the seem possible to disable the snow effect under "options" it has no effect.
Clicking "disable" just changed the state of the button itself, but the enable button still indicates that it the one pressed. And it is still snowing.

2) in you scrolling div under "about" the lowest content is partly covered by your fasding border graphics. I will sugsest that you ad, at least, some extra bottom padding.

1) done, thanks for noticing that
2) I believe this is fixed, and I have no problems with Chrome, FF, or even IE6.

Does anybody else have any ideas?

myfayt can only hope to improve
Two things I'd like to add.

#1. The site lags badly because of the snow. While I've used that effect myself for a temp time, it does kill the site. I am on a high speed DSL with firefox and it is lagging.

#2. You're using icons with no names, people have to guess and click random things. In the top right I am talking about.

Nightfire is on a distinguished road
Mystery Meat navigation - big no no!
Atleast your website now says what it's about, I remember the version(s) before
Why a snow effect? That's a bit 1990's

I understand the snow is old, I added it for winter and will remove it in today's update. When I add it back next year, it will be disabled by default.

You have a good point about the mystery navigation. I'll fix that too in today's update.

@Nightfire You mean this one? http://labs.mooseman-net.com/3.0/

I'll post again when I make the changes. Thanks!

I would say it definitely needs to come into the web 2.0 world. Smaller buttons, text rather than images, just to name one thing. Honestly I'd scrap it and start with a header, body area for content, and then navigation either on the left/right of content or as part of the header. The blurred borders just seem old school as you want your website to look professional and crisp. Also, why the exclamation points? I just don't understand what's going on in this website. It says the goal is to bring safe internet. How?...
