So basically, they'll be working for free. Why would someone want to pay to use a social networking site, when they can just use facebook for free, like the millions of other people?

To be fair, its not working for free if it runs on ads... its how Facebook made its initial profit. However, random post lacking information on a random forum, at least to me, indicates the lack of a solid business plan, and more or less is working for free.
