Looking for a WordPress developer
I hope this is the right forum for this. If not, I apologize. I thoroughly read the descriptions and decided to post here.
A friend of mine suggested that I post on CodingForums looking for a WordPress developer that could perform adjustments to my newly-purchased theme.
I would like to have a few interested people reply to this, as I don't want to simply choose the first individual that responds. In short, a post with spelling errors and bad grammar will come second to a properly worded post.
I propose sending, by e-mail, the full, unzipped theme for developmental use on your end. I already have the theme up and running on my host server. That way I can keep learning how to use WordPress while you work on a particular adjustment.
A real example of an adjustment I would like to have made: I have implemented a masthead GIF image 960px x 130px. It's comprised of text on a white background. I would like this masthead coded to utilize actual text and do away with the GIF image. Also, in this masthead area -- or above it, I would like a weather bug, but not necessarily linked. If the bug/widget could display the current temp and weather for my area that would be ideal. Currently, above this masthead is a "Stay Connected" link that opens a black box to display . . . my latest Twitter Tweets. I like this. If we could have something like this in the masthead area for the past temperatures, that would also be ideal -- I could simply enter the information as text in a post and apply it to a "Past Weather" category.
If you're an expert with WordPress, you know what this will entail. I would like to be able to send an e-mail with a request and have a prompt reply, stating when an issue could be addressed. I like to deal in days -- not weeks.
I'm not above following instructions, taking code and implementing it myself. However, I'm trusting enough to give full access to my site.
I've spent several weeks developing my new newspaper site with html and css. If I keep going in that direction, searching the site's archives will be an enormous task in only a few years. WordPress, to me, seems to be a user-friendly back end of a database. I'm really impressed by it.
I hope to hear from a few interested WordPress developers. I am prepared to pay for this service, of course.
