mysql dump text encoding

I have in mysql dump file

Quote:

'AjdovĹˇÄŤina'

that should be

Quote:

'Ajdovščina'

If I change encoding to UTF-8 in some text editor, then it looks fine.

Save & restore which then dies right at the start of file.

Any advice ?
