Links from blog commenting ?

We bring links from blog commenting but most of the time it is found that we get "nofollow" links. But as far as my knowledge is concerned search engine does not value no follow links. But still we try to bring links no follow comment links. Does it helps in ranking and am I wrong regarding the concept on no follow links. Please let me know.

Search engines shouldn't increase page rank because of links which are nofollow. You may however still gain readers from these links.

It's regardless whether a link is a dofollow or no follow. I don't think Google will be ok with a site that has only dofollow links. It's natural to have both kind of links.

As was mentioned already, Google will not flow page rank to your site from a rel="nofollow" link.

However, commenting on blogs that give you a nofollow is still part of SEO as they will generate traffic to your website.

They also increase your link popularity.

Google doesn't ignore them just because they are nofollow, it just doesn't flow page rank.

If a blog is nofollow... the search engine will not crawl them but you will get visitor hits from those blogs. If its a dofollow.. you don't need to worry..all your links will be crawled by the search engines.

Well, same here. I think no follow links Google can not crawl, that's why it does not effect on your site ranking but, this happens with Google search engine not yahoo or any other.

I don't bother with nofollow links. It's true many blogs, etc. are nofollow so get a good browser add on that will put a line through any link that is nofollow. This will save you so much time instead of viewing the source code to figure it out. Hope this helps, mate.

If anyone would like a dofollow PR5 backlink feel free to ask me, especially if you're having a hard time finding one (offer for members of this forum only).

I like having a mixture of both types of links it makes my sites look more natural in the eyes of Google. However, I focus mainly on dofollow links.

Nofollow links doesn't pass on any pagerank but they should be part of a naturally looking linking profile.

I do agree that nofollow links still have value. Could someone recommend me some blog commenting services that offer quality over quantity, but with reasonable price of course.

Your page rank wont be affected but your actual ranking in search results still relies on any links pointing towards your site. Panda still likes blogs, even more so now than before
