It seemed a bit old fashioned. Navigation leaves much to be desired, as there is no opportunity to come back your home page or other desired pages. So try to drive away at this concern. Also will suggest to work on your header and make it much more appealing

Header is an image placed on top of the website/blog. And it's one of the most important parts of the site. Thus, it should be appealing, as it's the first feature a website visitor see.
So try to make a header oriented to your niche. It should give a quick explanation what your site is about.

I agree that whenever you go to a link off the main page, there should be a link back to the homepage and the other pages. Otherwise, it is very difficult to go through all of the pages. Other than that, I quite like the design. It is plain with no bright colours or flashing boxes / text to distract the reader.
